Photography Information
Photography 1
Photography defined is the process of recording pictures by means of capturing light on a light-sensitive medium, such as a film or electronic sensor. The process however is more complicated than just pointing your camera and taking the shot.
The word photography comes from the French photographic derived from the Greek terms phos (light) and graphis (paintbrush), together meaning drawing with light.
As the word's origins suggests, photography is an art from just like any other. It takes a special kind of person with a natural affiliation to see the beauty in all that surrounds him. But only a photographer can capture that beauty and make it visible to the world at large.
It is a delicate and often time consuming art but we would indeed be worst off if there were no one to make us stop and take note of the blessings that surrounds us.
Unique Photography
Photography has many faces and each of them as unique and the other. To briefly classify them in a broad spectrum they are; commercial, portraiture, wildlife, fashion, advertising, food and product and fine art.
The fight to certify photography as a fine art has been among the medium's dominant philosophical preoccupations since its inception.
Photography's legitimacy as an art form was challenged by artists and critics, who seized upon the mechanical and chemical aspects of the photographic process as proof that photography was, at best, a craft. Perhaps because so many painters came to rely so heavily on the photograph as a source of imagery, they insisted that photography could only be a handmaiden to the arts.
To prove that photography was indeed an art, photographers at first imitated the painting of the time.
Enormous popularity was achieved by photographers such as O. J. Rejlander and Henry Peach Robinson. They created scenes by printing from multiple negatives. Julia Margaret Cameron blurred her images to achieve a painterly softness of line, creating a series of remarkably powerful soft-focus portraits of her celebrated friends.
Quality Photography
Quality photography is thus based on the innovations brought to the table by the photographer rather than the object person or seen that needs to be photographed.
A professional photographer will often do all of the above types of photography until he has found the truest way for him to express his own version of what he wants his art form to depict and then specialize it that field.
When you have a photographic project to compile you would search for a photographer that has experience in all the fields of photography. You would want a person that is flexible to recommendations but is also willing to guide your project in the best optimal way.
